FROM THE BEGINNING

Lily Transportation's history dates back to 1943, when John Simourian, a first-generation American, was unable to enlist in the military because of a back injury.

Determined to contribute in another way, John left his job and met with the commander of the Watertown, Massachusetts Arsenal, where he learned that the military needed additional truck transportation between the arsenal and the Charlestown Navy Yard.

John brought together family members and friends who were also unable to serve in the military, forming a team that transported torpedoes from the Boston arsenal to the Navy Yard in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

After graduating from college in 1957, John's son joined the family business as a salesperson, by which time it had grown into a regional trucking company serving the Northeastern United States.

In 1958, John founded his own company and named it Lily Transportation in honor of his mother. The business began as a leasing company and later expanded into trucking operations in 1967, transporting Lincoln Foods' apple juice from Lawrence, Massachusetts, to supermarkets throughout the Eastern United States.

For more than 60 years, Lily Transportation has been a trusted name in the logistics industry.

What started as a small transportation business has grown into a nationwide logistics provider. Over the years, the company has developed dedicated transportation solutions tailored to businesses with complex and specialized logistics requirements.

Today, Lily Transportation continues to experience steady growth while expanding its transportation capabilities, service offerings, and geographic presence across the country.
